Stampede at Castle Deep North

You gotta love Jersey... The place is alive with critters... Down in Florida we get a stray coon or armadillo in the back yard but Jersey has variety... Looked out at my mom's pool which still has a dirty water filled cover on it. A pair of mallards just calling it home and sharing it with a couple bull frogs...
That stuff is cool... Then a squirrel starts screaming at me from a branch above my head. Something moves out of the corner of my eye as two bunnies cross the drive and work their way toward my moms berry patch. Again cool stuff.
I walked to the rolling tackle box and began reorganizing after yesterdays trip. I was not paying attention as I scrubbed my cooler of some macks left over from class. I heard a stamp and snort from no more than twenty feet over my shoulder.
I turned to see eight points covered in velvet attached to a dandy sized frame. I focused further to see another four pointer and six pointer a few feet behind. I cocked my head to look around athe corner of the house the were standing next to... Four big boone and crocket class does and three pee wees were trimming the lawn.
Of course no camera or gun or bow or even blow gun in range. It didn't matter though. It was just cool watching. The big boy stomped again so I stomped back..
How the hell they know when you are unarmed is uncanny. If I stomped while hunting the day would be done. Here in suburbia where man really isn't a threat they took the stomp as a challenge. The big one snorted and put his head down in what could be called a threat mode. He stomped again and then led the way as the small herd all came my way. I stomped again they flinched and all came running right past me almost close enough to touch...
I considered doing a Deep and try to tackle one but the sharp hooves, a sore elbow, and shark season needing me healthy all got run through the microprocessor between my ears... I just let them go... Jersey can be so cool if you just let it come to you...

Just got it rigged out! Got plans for that jewel...

Lovin Jersey is easy if you let it. Just did my good deed for the day. Was gonna go explore for blues and burn some macks left over from class but the tide was wrong. Instead there was a good looking blonde lady with a couple kids trying to catch crabs. How come we don't get cool women like that who take their kids fishin and crabbin in Florida ?
I could see they were woefully unprepared, with bait ring rigs and just a couple minnows the local shop no doubt gouged them for. Mom was manning the net but the throw lines on the rings were pretty short. Any way I tethered some of the macks to longer lengths of mono and tossed them into some likely hot spots. It didn't take long before they were harvesting blue claws at a fair clip.
The kids bubbled with glee, Mom gave me one of those thank you looks and I faded away like a phantom... I'm sure they will get enough for dinner and will wonder... "Who was that guy..." If they only knew...
