    spencer boats

I have noticed there are quite a few Paul Spencer boats for sale. I know things are bad out there but does anyone know if there is a problem with what appears to be an awsome boat. Seems to be strange that there are so many of them on the market. This boat seems to have it all looks, good modern styling, speed, they seem to raise fish. I hope its not a ride problem.

What would make the owner of a Paul Spencer boat Immune from this mess of an economy? Its a sign of the times and a sign of uncontrolled speculation!

    My 2 cents....

Im trying to think of a good way to say this offending anyone... Paul Spencer build a fishing boat...it is great riding boat, great fishing boat and is a good looking boat...the owners of spencer boat that I have met are fishermen not people that want a production boat now with a pretty yacht like interior to cruise the islands with and have a booze cruise on sundays with an occasinal fishing day...not stereo-typing production boat owners...Spencer has prolly finished more custom boats than any other builders this could be the reason for why there are so many on the market...

Trust me when I say it's not a ride issue...they ride the hell out and shred any reasonable sea with ease. Probably one of the, if not, the best sporties i've fished on (59 Spencer Boat). Not necessarily the most luxurious or best interior, but the lines and ride are second to none. How many are for sale anyways, maybe a dozen at the most???

Just the times. Like someone said above, they have made a bunch of them. At one time my friends son was overseeing the construction of two at a time. That was just one foreman.

Did they ever break the 50knot thresh hold with one? I know they were trying at one time.

I think they did. I use to fish with Bull Tolson on the Sea Toy right often and his was about 48 knots full of gear and fuel. Last time I fished with him he said that they had one in the shop with the same dimensions as his but with an extra 200 or so horsepower per motor. So I would imagine this boat light one fuel would break the 50 knot mark.

No 50 knot boats as of this date 6/29/2010

I worked at Spencer till then, and the 50 knot threshold had not been broken. They were concentrating on fuel economy at that point, so it was put on the back burner.
I'm sure they could have reached that point, but with global warming and gas prices so high, it is not an issue anymore.
