Websters defines a hick as a gulliable provincial person while a redneck is one of the white rural laboring class.

I always thought rednecks were just a southern thing but I realize they are up north too. We have 4-wheelers down here and northern rednecks have snowmobiles. we will take an aluminum boat and a cooler of beer and fish in a lake or river and a northern redneck will take his snowmobile and haul an outhouse out on a frozen lake and fish in a hole and drink liquor.

I guess it is possible to be both.

One night i was docking the boat at shem creek in SC, and the X went to get the trailer and truck......i looked down at my arms and i was covered!!!!! - tried everything..even windex! ---wound up havin over 100 bite all over me!

I swore after that i was gonna wear a repel aroung my neck and each limb!!!

the second worst thing about the south and probably the only other thing----is the giant red ant hill

First time i was ever in GA i stepped right on one!!! - felt the first bite and started checkin my feet...my friend goes "GURL u BETTA stomp dem feets" ---i dont think i ever laughed so hard in my life! ---- and then cried, cause they bit me all over my feet and legs!

Sounds like fire ants to me. You need to be careful since they can be deadly to those who are allergic to them. I think they are as far north as MD so it won't jsut be a southern bug anymore

Yeah, those fire ants are brutal. They hurt like hell when they bite and then itch like hell for about a week after.

The nociums are a real PIA too, especially when trying to clean fish at dusk.

Oh well, I'll take the good with the not-so-bad anyday.
