Somethig kinda cool and different

Today I got to meet the artist Wyland. He's the dude that does all the big whale paintings on buildings. As a science director for Hampton City Schools I got picked to represent the department. Wyland was at the Air and Space Center in Hampton, VA. He did a mural for the Air and Space center. Students from two of our schools got to paint on the mural as well. He did an estuary scene. The kids painted the animals. From fish to oyster to birds. It was very cool. I got in on the action as well. I painted a piece of marsh grass.

The thing that impressed the most is that he did the entire background with a roller!! That's right a roller. No brushes, no air pump, just a dammit roller. Man is he talented.

Well its not everyday that one gets to meet and paint with a world famous artist, and I am thankful for the opportunity.

i hear that man.. i was in disney 4 years ago at the boardwalk and walked in to see that big bronze or whatever it is made out of marlin.. it was i think 12k for the entire thing.. me being the young 20 yr old overpaid kid i was went a put a 4k deposit on it to get it shipped to my house.. they even financed it.. i walked out feeling all excited yet very light headed and faint...

i walked in circles for 25 minutes and realized i am not goign to pay that kind of money and went in and changed my mind and bought one of his bracelets for someone and got my 4k back, took a picture next to it, and off i went. lol

The man does paint some very nices pieces. I was in the store in key west years ago and my friend bought a painting as an investment because he heard that they increase in value. I have no idea if that is true or not and I don't know if he still has it or not.
