Hi Everyone,
I thought that it might be interesting to see if anyone else enjoys solo fishing here. I personally like being able to just pick-up and go whenever I want. I dislike having to rely on a fishing buddy - to decide if its convenient or not to go fishing.
I mainly do all my fishing just outside the reef. I tend to do a lot of trolling and reef/bottom fishing (always within sight of land). I would like to get into vertical speed jigging, so I am currently researching the topic in regards to gear etc.
Here's a picture of my '88, 17' Montauk Classic w/2006, 90hp Etec; which I find is an excellent solo boat, so easy to launch and load up.
So fellow "solo fishermen" let's swap fishing stories, tips, and share pictures right here on this great website. Tight lines everyone and Merry Christmas

Gally, Welcome to SFC, I there are a bunch of us that solo although I don't do it as much as use to. Another set of safety concerns to think about doing this, first is always be tied to your kill switch...
Hi Wahoonbox
Great post. Just think you would of missed all that fun if you weren't prepared to go solo ...
The weather is great here today and is suppose to remain good all weekend too, so I can't wait to go out tomorrow. Need to get a camera, so I can take more solo action pics to post.

Hope You Don't Think It's Cheatin' But,
My next piece of gear will be an autopilot! Nothing fancy, just hold the course I set. The boat alway's goes straight until........ I do enjoy my time out alone. A "silent Partner" is a real asset. I've had them on my commercial boat's. It's just a piece of equipment that'll make wonder "how did it make " without this before??? Frank
I fish the Cape May inlet jetty and rips by myself all year in a 20' boat. My best investment has been an "autotether wireless lanyard". I can still fish around the boat while having the safety of a kill switch.
hey there "wahoo" . are you trying to promote that you can fish by yourself or some "other" product ??? maybe it works for you , but , this is not what want to see in a " solo " , as i have seen marlin etc caught buy individuals . good luck on your ad campaign .....

I go by myself 90 % of the time , mostly fairly close to shore and on the flats . I really enjoy getting to some fairly innaccessible places and wade fishing in the summer with a small bait bucket full of Greenbacks and a floating cooler ...very relaxing !!
