yep, during bear season and we are running the dogs, i love folding the ears on that mini-tracker out and seeing the treed switches go off. it usually means a lot of work after that happens. getting to the bear quick before he comes down, if he does come down that usually means stitching or stapling up some dogs (plott hounds), then killing the bear and cutting trails towards our buddies at the road cutting their way in to us. you want work, carry two bear hindquarters linked together with a belt or a dog lead over your shoulder, 3 or 4 dogs in one hand, and a machete in the other cutting a trail,.375 H&H over your back with a sling, back pack with 2-liters of water int he camelbak, and all the time rechecking your bearings so you don't get off course. bear hunting is for men. some people will never understand how thick it gets 11 miles into the Croatan Wilderness. wanna go, give me a ring.
