So what's really going on in the Middle East?

    Buttho assasinated today...

What's up? Now the Muslim country WITH nukes is in total chaos (not that it ever was "stable") but goes to show the level the radicals will go and how deep they are inter-twined with powers of the countries of the ME and their level of hatred toward democracy and freedom. At what point do the "non- radical" islamic people say enough is enough AND DO SOMETHING about it rather than taking their ever-so comfortable backseat and stand there and do nothing? Or.... is this who they really are and what they really want????

And they don't want to be profiled as "potential risks" in cultures that are composed of logical people (like here at the airports, etc)....

If not profiling, then who is the logical society?

YOU WANT THE TRUTH ?? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH !!

(I sure would like to know myself what the truth is and not what the government or media would like me to believe is the truth for once)

When it comes to that whole area over there, I am completely at a loss of understanding. Every time I think I understand the different sects, factions, religions, semi-different religions, etc, things get scrambled in my head. I wish we didn't need the oil so bad, then we could just ignore them or turn the whol area in to a giant parking lot.

from what i been told, your better off eating anything you catch over there, otherwise you'll lose about 40 lbs every 5 week hitch cause the is the same flavor as busted assh*le and roughly the same consistency.

cant be too bad though... fishing wise just gotta watch out for the small boats taking potshots at you. life style: the occational blackout on the rig, some exotic illnesses attributed to the various additives in the food (giving it that delicious flavor) and finding rust in your underwear. for some reason they don't really like sending the nice new equipment overseas... wonder why?

    can i say this without,

everyone thinking i want to fight? because that's not what i'm looking to do. but i'm certainly not afraid to give my thought on thing's that i truely believe. the real problem today is RELIGION! ALL RELIGION! its about hate, its about war. no one dies fighting for freedom.....they die fighting for religious reason's. there is no such thing as "radical muslim" in my opinion. muhammad ali is a muslim. he never shut his mouth in the 60s, 70s, or 80s. i havent heard one bit of criticism from him since 911. why not. i'll listen to him. do you think the muslim world will? in this country we have a seperation of church and state. i have read all the thread's on here about "how can they do this"..... not allow prayer in school, no natitvity sceen, etc etc. the truth is you cant allow that without a war. look how upset people get just because they are not allowed to display these item's in public places. they aren't radical catholic's. they are just catholics, or jewish or what ever religion they grew up with. but as a group they are up in arm's over the idea that the nativity sceen cant be displayed' i dont get it. ill give you another example......my girlfriend's parent's are jehovah witness's. i have no idea what that mean's and i dont care. but when they brought it here to my house, i threw them out. as politely as i could. they came back again....with a little more determination. now i let them have it. they can live their life anyway they want. but they will leave me out of it. guess what. now they hate me. do you think i care? no. but who here is the hater? religious stories get told to further the belief that there is a god, and he only listen's to me. and with that thought you can wage war. not trying to attack anyone's religious belief's because you couldnt convince me about the existance of god for anything. as a discussion though every guy on death row has a bible, where was that when he was killing that innocent child? religion is the very first form of politic's........i would rather this country fight over political spending and right and left than catholic or jewish. think about it....... there are so many element's to this and smarter men than me have tried to understand this thing called religion. until someone calls it what it is. it will continue. and if he calls it what it is, he will be done politically. i think john lennon said it best......."imagine no religion too," just my thought's. not trying to offend anyone. i know religion can be a HOT topic.alex.

I had a mentor, business partner and best friend (all rolled into one) that was from the middle east.... he was what I would classify as a "moderate" muslim...his ideals were not radical...he was not overly/fanatically religious...very much mainstream.... he had been in the U.S. for over 20 years and was even married to a mid-western American girl......after 12 years I thought I really knew and understood him... then one day out of the blue he turned on me like I just spit in Ala's face... for no good reason... we are now and have been for over nine years arch enemies..... I've been over it a thousand time and don't begin to understand.....

Muhammad Ali is not in a physical position to verbalize his opinions on this matter, but I see where you're going with this. Nor do I care what a war dodger has to say. Sorry, but I don't view him as the "hero" other's do. He was nothing more than a great boxer, just like Mike Tyson.

I will say this... I does get under my skin a little when I hear a President or future President wrap a speech up with "and God Bless America". I would rather have them leave it completely out of their address, or say "and God Bless EVERYONE"... In my opinion, it just twists the needle a little harder in the side of those who hate us and says "screw your beliefs, we have GOD in our corner"... and, like you say, there is a separation of church & state... at least that's what the document said, but this little "statement" at the end of a speech crosses the line in my opinion.

The whole thing stems from religion.....and nobody is gonna change that.
It's a war that can't be won. First because we are fighting an enemy that has no fear of death, and second because it's unclear who the enemy is.
They don't wear name tags or gang colors, and they are men, women & children. I think the US, Canada and all other countries involved should pull out, and let these people kill each other, like they have been doing for the last 400 years. I agree that it's all about oil, and not about liberating these people. How many of our people have to die before someone relizes that this is a pointless fight.
