So...... What are everyone's plans for Christmas and New Year's

Just curious how everyone spends their holidays. Any traditions you and your family participate in each year???????? Any special memories you have that you may want to share with us. Any special gift you're wanting?

My family will be apart for Christmas. My parents will be in Georgia and my sister will be spending it with the in-laws. For me, I have 12 days off and will be enjoying not having to grade papers and will be able to relax some. Maybe Santa will bring me what I want this year.

comeon guys, don't leave the lady hanging. lets see christmas in the turner household. Starts around 6 am with 30lbs of prime rib going in the oven on slow roast. Kids up at 8 , slashing at the wrapping paper better than a blue marlin at one of marty's rigged mackerals. After that prepping the house , we have 30 plus people for christmas dinner. all arrive around 2ish, meal on the table by 3. As far as tradition, just the typical late service at church on christmas eve. the other is my grandmother's potato filling, now she is getting up in years, so i have to make it. It's very good, but the combination of everything that is in it, makes the house smell like it for a good solid week.

my want gift this year is a DFA, though im sure i won't get it, i could see me telling that i want a dfa, they would look at me like i was talking martian or something.

I'm having the family over on Christmas Eve for dinner, this will be the first for me in the new house.I'll be up early on Christmas Day and will have to wait for my son to get up,and then will have breakfast, and head outside to break in his new gun he's getting. And if all works out hopefully the day after Christmas I'll be heading to the coast for ducks and tuna.

I'll be making the trek down to NC to visit with my brothers and sisters. My parents passed on about four years ago now and we continue their established Christmas tradition of getting together fo a big family dinner and spending some time together to catch up.

We'll probably have about 15 for dinner at my sister's house. She and I will spend a few hours in the kitchen cooking a feast fit for a king like my Mom and I used to...we'll have a deep fried turkey, andouille & oyster dressing, brocolli casserole, fresh collards, some black eyed peas and I'm going to throw in a few racks of lamb this year.......a little something new and different.

So....everyone have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS wherever you may be!!

Unless I have an innovative plan, I think this is going to be a peaceful, lonely, yet a relaxing Christmas for me this year. I don't know whether to be joyful or not. The day to sit lazily on the sofa, watching the TV with a can of beer in my hand.

    However, Merry Christmas everybody!

We celebrate Christmas Eve.....lasagna, stuffed shells, 2 types of pasta, meatballs, mild and hot Italian sausage, salad, bread, dessert. Christmas Day is buffet style...leftovers from the nite before and a deli tray.

Wishing everyone at SPF.com a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. And for the illegal immigrants......Feliz Navidad y Prospero ano nuevo y felicidad.

For a couple days around Christmas, I'll slide to Ocean Reef to fish with some high profile clients. Christmas eve I'll eat some traditional stuff and then pass out the goodies as Santa Deep... My mom and her boyfriend will no doubt give me something like a shirt. Mini will give me something cute and my missus will give me something extravigant. She has bought a mountain of stuff worth close to a new boat to give family and friends that won't be there.
New Years I plan on being back here ready to wreck the sails during what is usually the hottest bite of the year. My usual group has not booked yet but probably will... New Years eve, I'll set up the loudest fireworks display I can and will no doubt be wearing powder burns for weeks to come...

GW273: believe it or not, la familia are not big fish eaters. I'm the only one.
I can do without the fishies though......stuffed shells are my favorite-est food.
