FL So there I was, yesterday

A bit over 1000 miles from home, I was trolling about 5 miles off the coast of Florida in a friends center console with no GPS, No ChartPlotter, No Radar, no Outriggers and No Sonar. Just a radio and my buddy Eldee. We hadn't seen too many others out, and then I noticed a boat dropping off plane just to our east. Sure enough...an Albermale and sure enough the guy driving it was wearing a Sportfishermen.com shirt...and sure enough... it was the Deep C. Small world

Great to see you out there Deep and glad to hear you put your charter on the fish. We boated a mahi and released a small shark that hit a trolled bally. Had a few other shoppers. Never found the sails but it was another great day on the water.

    Catch you soon up North

Well hello Mike... It was good to see you too... We wound up ok but it took a lot of work. HAd a few dolphin and capped it with a rat sail in front of the inlet late when that weed line finally pushed in to the 130' range. Today was windy, cool and not ver good. Two way small dolphin, some bluefish and macks...

    Goof
No yellow near my boat... I still got that bucket of man-o-wars and they're lookin hungry

    Deep,
That was some interesting fishing there. That rip that formed with a weed line and color break looked awesome. Is that a daily occurance there?
I was also surprised how quickly we moved up the coast. Not having a plotter I could only go by landmarks but it felt like there was a good current pushing North, is that gulf stream? tidal?

I was without my digital camera but did have a regular camera and caught a couple shots of the Deep C. It may be a bit before I hit the develper but I'll scan and send you a copy if they come out.

    gofshn,
I completely agree about the brotherhood. As for the B_ _ _ _ _ I don't think Deep even recognizes them as a valid food item.

That was an unusually hard defined edge... We had three and a half knots of gulfstream current on the blue side and only about a knot on the other. We get them more in summer and fall than now. I was surprised how slow it actually was. Should have been a home run. When it was deep, I kept waiting for a blue to raise when I made those swings out from it to where the water was roiling and boiling. We had raised someting small out well past that but what flavor I cant tell. The sail was at the end of the day when it finally cleared up the shallower water...
