Tim now it all makes sense I grew up in the Erie PA area bout an hour and half west of Buffalo I was thinking you seemed to normal to be from NC. Im leaving Tuesday afternoon to take the Wife up to Erie to see her folks for the Holidays.

Out of Southport it is about 60 mi to the stream so it is further than morehead or the OBX. There are lots of artificial reefs in the area. We fish a 25 ft boat and usually stay within 45 mi of the inlet. Frying Pan Tower is about 40 mi out and only 50 ft of water at the end of the shoal. lots of good fishing around it.

Partly cloudy, nice and warm 73 degrees here in Oriental NC today...

Billy, thing about Pamlico Sound is the flooding when a hurricane comes. There are some great areas here that are ok when they come, just have to do the "P" thing and be ready to pull your boat or take it up a river. I have riden out every on here in Wilmington since Hazel in 1954. Unless we get a Cat5, I'm not goinng anywhere and if you leave, where would you go???

Had a look at Moorehead and Southport on Yahoo Maps, seems like real good to me, I have a 40 footer so I won't sweat the small stuff, but the big stuff...well I'm sure there's places to go.......

We've had snow on the ground and minus temps for a week here on the west coast. Very unusual for this area, as the snow usually stays in the mountains, and not down here by the ocean.
I have lived here for 12 years and I don't even own a snow shovel. Many poeple have frozen water pipes. I checked the antifreeze in my truck yesterday, and it was slush. Global warming my azz.
