Hey everyone i wanted to take a minute to talk about something.

I have seen a increase of people thinking its cool to just post about selling there products. You will not last. I do not care if you bought a banner or have a ad in the directory i will refund your money instanly and remove you from the site.

Make good posts , help people on the site. Provide information on whats going on in the fishing and boating world and you will have no problem posting about your products.

How to tell if you might be a spammer !
Click on your name and gotto recent posts.
If you have more posts about selling your products then helpful info you probably are a spammer and will not last here.

If you just read this and think you might be a spammer then you probably are.

The people around here that help others and post up good reads or dont sell any products already know they are not a spammer.

Coming here just to make money off our members is a bad idea.
Becoming a good member here and contributing is a great idea !
I have watched many companies come on this site and post make friends and sell tons of products after gaining respect with the members.

Im not tring to crawl up anyones ass here im just attempting to help people understand what we exspect.

Here are some ways you can do this.

Put a link up on your website to ours. We have over 250 banners to help people promote us. http://www.sportfishermen.com/banners/static/index.php
You can also put up a text link to us. You do not have to do this its just really makes me happy to see it when people do. And i thank the people very much who have already listed us on there sites.

Jer will be luanching a one of a kind directory in a few days. This directory is built to help your company succeed online . When Jer release it consider buying a ad in it.

The biggest way you can help us grow and be successful is post ! Find interesting topics ,photos , news ,videos, etc. Start discussions ask questions. Help other members !

Oh ya if a new member comes on and post about his products just send him a link to this thread or take some time to exsplain the site to them Dave did this the other day and i think we got a great new member from daves post

I couldn't agree more... A little bit of what I have noticed.... Those I have just tried to sell trips or product to have just flat not responded very well at all. The people that I have helped walk through how tos and developed RELATIONSHIPS with have become some irreplacably good clients and contacts...
Folks... John has developed what may be the worlds best site where everybody shares info. Lets keep it great...

I for one am truely appreciateive of anyone on here who posts something that educates me. Unlike many of the professionals on this site I don't / can't spend days and days (years and years) learning through trial and error.

So if you teach me something that cuts down on my learning curve I really appreciate it....and who knows I may respond by purchasing your goods and services.

BTW, entertaining me is almost as good as educating me....

For the hundreds (maybe thousands) of posters who have taken the time to already post videos and information, I thank you. If you are ever up my way, you can count on a ride out to the fish, a few beers and hopefully some fun on my boat.
