    simple question..or maybe not

My transom needs some repair on my vintage 22' Mako. One thought is to beef it up, throw my 225 Yamaha back on, and cruise off into sunset. Other option is to seal it up and go with a bracket. New member..old fisherman. Thanks for any input in advance. Marshall

I definatly don't prefer an open back.I have seen done on several mako's is make a starboard panel and channel's that it will slide in and out of.The panel breache's the open transom. You would have to lift it out to tilt the motor all the way up for towing(no big deal). There is a classic mako forum you would be able to get pic's and info on it there.Welcome to SPF.
