I became very confused when I heard the word "service" used with these agencies:

Internal Revenue 'Service'
United States Postal 'Service'
Telephone 'Service'
Cable TV 'Service'

Civil 'Service'
City, State & Public 'Service'
Customer 'Service'

This is not what I thought 'service' meant.
But today, I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them said he had hired a bull to 'service' his cows.

Ever hear a prostitute on Oprah, Dr Phil, or Jerry Springer say they provide a "SERVICE" ?

A short term experience can result in long term pain. We get the short term experience of working our butt off and we see our pay for a "short time" and it feels pretty good, but then the government "services" us by taking it out of our pocket. Then we feel the long term sting of empty pockets. Much like the prostitute, sometimes they leave you with a "gift" that says hello, intermitantly, for a life time. Seen it in many people's lives. All because of a service oriented service!
