It's little scary that the left has hold of the reigns in a time like this. Check out some of the cabinet appointments. Reason for optimism? I think not.

well he has been president since 12:05 pm Jan 20th...it is 6:53 pm Jan 20th and I see no change. People still laid off, the market still in a downward spiral. Iran will rearm Hamas with longer range rockets. There is no drilling off our coasts. And Pelosi had another bad hair day. The only thing that changed is .....Oprah gained another 10 lbs dining with the Obama family !!!!!!!

be benefits. If it gives the young black man or woman someone to look up to other than a gang banger rap star that's great. If he presents a role model and by his example helps put back together the black family thats great. If the power of proper English becomes more important than ebonics that's a plus. If I don't have to hear how whitey is keepin' the black man down that would be progress.

I am a bit skeptical of his ability to govern; however, and the painful truth is too many people voted for him exactly because of the color of skin and not the content of his character. If the election was truly about character, we would have elected the war hero with all the principals.

Oh yeah, just yesterday I was commenting how "whitey" is keeping me down. Since I've never heard a white person say that any other race has kept them from work or any benefits.
This is the stuff I'm talking about. people don't look at all sides of what's going on in this country.

Roberts actually read it incorrectly and Obama didn't repeat it b/c of that. Roberts was off camera, but it seemed like Obama smiled as a reaction to Roberts who may have realized his errors.

I agree the speech was a big flop. Nothing but blanket statements with socialist ideas. It's going to be an interesting ride here for at least 2 years.

Racism is definitely kept alive by politicians for their own gain and it's truly sad.

OK I take back my statement that Obama flubbed the oath. It would appear from the video that both were contributory with Obama interrupting Roberts before he could finish the first line, then Roberts lost his place and screwed up the ordering of the words by placing the adjective "faithfully" at the end of the sentence. All I know is that I cringed when I heard that terrible grammar job.

I think anyone taking the position of President at this point in time would be in over their head. It goes without saying that Obama will be. His most important cabinet member at this point in time is Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geithner. Let's see, Geithner knowingly failed to pay income taxes and once he was caught, he only paid up for the years he was caught. He only paid up on the other years he failed to pay when he was nominated for the Treasury Secretary position and background checks caught him cheating again. This is the same guy who handled the failed effort to save Lehman Bros which ended up being the kick that destroyed all confidence in our financial system and sent the stock market into a downward spiral which has continued to this very inaugural day. Now ask me, do I have HOPE in this administration? I'll give them the typical honeymoon of like 6 months, but I expect to see a lot of hussle in the interim.

The stats don't lie. Approx. 70% of black children are born out of wedlock and approx. 60% are raised in fatherless homes. Approx. 27% of white children are bron out of wedlock. I am sorry, I was not trying to be insulting, but there is a problem and it can't be fixed until people are not afraid to look at the truth.

I gotta hand it to you. You seem out numbered here, but you stand your ground and speak the truth. If the PEOPLE of this Country could have a real "no feelings getting hurt" relationship and get over all the childish crap, man we would be sooooooo much better off. We're not even over the Yankee, RedNeck thing yet. I make jabs at Yankee's all the time, they're just as much American as me, no big deal. The problem I see is everyone has such thin skin and it get's thinner to meet their "feeling's" as the need arises. I got a great example of what this Country could be from our recent past, here goes. When the plane landed in the Hudson River there wasn't a single black, white, hispanic, latino, person on that plane. They were all just people, didn't matter. The rescue effort was by the same type people ,didn't matter. I didn't hear anyone pissing and moaning about having to help someone of a different race. If this guy is going to change then why did he spend 140 to 150 million dollars on his party. I beleive we are in a recession. This just chaps my ass that he says he is going to chnage anything. Just more of the same.
