Yes it is an okuma reel (bass gear) but what I meant was the lure, if you look close you can see it.

How was this fished? Straight bucktail? I bet a big Fin S or gummy hoo would work nice with it.

well I could tell you but I would have to kill you.

We were 80 miles south of montauk fishing the Star Island tourney (chumming like crazy) we noticed some big marks on the sounder. I had all the big reel set up for sharks so rather that switch over I grabbed the bass gear out of the cabin. I used it just the way I fish for bass 3 way swivel 5 ft 50lb leader 2 ft dropper and 16 0z sinker. It is not uncommon to catch tuna on jigs but with a 16oz lead in front of it. We caught multiple the same day, in fact the tuna stayed under the boat for about 1/2 hr. They were spitting up sand eels onto the boat, eventually we tipped the bucktails with them (which is what landed us the one in the video).

There was a post on this board not all that long ago about catching tunas on bucktales (actually the post was aboutsomething else, but the bucktales came up), interesting you had this vid. Pretty cool.
