I went with TowBoat. They pretty much offer the same thing with the exception that in my area TowBoat goes out 75 miles compared to Seatow at 50. TowBoat also gives unlimited help if your boat gets beached, Seatow is first 15 minutes free. I called both companies and asked why one was better than the other and these were the two that stood out the most for me.

I have been with Sea Tow for 10 years and used them in Morehead as well as Wrightsville, both are great opertations. Ae I under stand it, only Sea Tow will do charter boats.

I would not leave the dock without it. My Sea Tow covers me on other boats should they break down...

Think somebody just asked this...but, think about the kind of boating you do, and ask the questions of your local guys, do you boat at night, will they come get you...will they tow you to your home port, or just the closest port (not much use there)...if you're out in rough weather, will they come for you...if you wrap a line, do they dive...etc...I use Towboat, the guy in my area does it all.......funny story, he was towing me home one night, I had run out of fuel, let my son fuel it up and he stopped a little early in the game, so my wife and I made a drink, sat on the bridge, while Mike Goodrich TowBoat US out of Newburyport towed us home, we both had our depth sounders on and were talking on the radio about 10pm when suddenly BIG marks showed up on our screens. "Hey Billy" he says, "what do you think those are?" "Tuna" I replied. "I think I'll drop you here and fish" says Mike. He didn't but he went back there the next morning and caught a 900 pounder...good thing I called him....
