For prerking my interest. After seeing the SFC post on the Sea Shepherd's letting the tuna loose, I made myself sit down and watch "whale war's" for the first and last time. I have intentionally not watched anything thing to do with that bunch, because I felt I already knew what they were about. Yes my suspicion's were correct, what a bunch of "pencil neck, wire rimmed glass, nothing better to do except drain mommy and daddy's trust fund", moron's.
I sat and watched the supposed " Captain's" of the Steve Irwin and Bob Barker put there crew's at immediate risk. The SI's capt couldn't make up his mind whether to haul the small boat and crew back aboard until the last minute, with a pissed off faster ship bearing down on the same side as said crew were hanging from the davit's. The BB's capt, put his ship and crew in imminent peril by steaming his ship through a 300 mile storm, instead of steamimng around or laying to waiting for the storm to pass. He did this without any consideration execpt "time", no one was in danger that he "had" to get to. Both situation's could have had grave out come's that were totally avoidable through good judgement. They are a disgrace to everything "maritime".
They were also trying to disable the other vessel's by fouling their prop's and/or rudder's. Being rendered dead in the water and forced to lay side too, in marginal condition's is absolutely criminal. If the vessel's couldn't shake the rope's they are using, diver's would have to go overboard in pitching, rolling sea's to clear the running gear. A vessel can stand alot more weather when it is able to make "way" than it can side to without propulsion. Then I saw them shooting some type of projectile's at the other ship's (tear gas maybe). I would have absolutely no remorse in mounting two .50 cal tri-pod machine gun's on the bow. Then ordering my crew to shoot across their bow (with every 3rd round being a tracer, so they could see it coming) on the first offense. Second offense would be straight into the wheel house. I'm not kidding here, one bit. What give's these dumb-sses the "right" to put other's at risk, never mind their own crew's? The Capt's of these vessel's are reponsible for their crew's saftey, in any Admiralty court. Whatever country those boat's are registered with, should terminate their voyage's, period. The proof is there on tape, what a joke they are. And what fool's the crew's are for sailing with them. They'd be better off hugging a sea turtle's neck while playing Russian Roulette, it would be quicker and wouldn't nearly as much.
I think it's safe to say that I'm "rooting" for whoever those asses are against. If anyone in the sportfishing community think's what they are doing is a good thing, know this, You're Next. Having been in the commercial fishing biz long term I know how this game is played. You help them today, they turn on you tommorrow. You or I do not fit into their idea of how this world outta be. It's their way or no way. You will not fit in, that is unless you conform. Frank
Right on Frank. While I'm glad they got the tuna loose, I will never support Sea Shepherd. Paul watsons reckless behavior and total disregard for human life is disgusting.

You definitely hit the nail on the head - He has no regard for the human life on his vessel and on the ones he is tangling with.
I fully believe the Japanese are wrong for their whaling practices, and I have NO respect for ICCAT. Even less for the countries that refuse to adhere to the quotas they have agreed to - But that doesn't excuse what is basically piracy.

That's pretty much my point. I don't agree with alot of what's going on either. I don't keep up with any of the treatie's about fishing and such, myself. I had way more than enough of that with NMFS when I was fishing for a living. But what I said about supporting this movement, I mean. YOU are Next! Been there - done that, personally. You have no freind's in "management". Frank
When not if somebody gets dead, I hope they try that idiot and sentence him for first degree murder cause his actions fall nothing short of premeditated... Though I like whales and feel the plight of tuna his actions are criminal.
I agree, but I don't want those sorry excuses for Captain's being the carrier's of the "message" for the rest of us. We have enough law's on the book's that are not enforced now. We have fisherie's problem's here in NC like anywhere else. Time and again I have seen first hand, if the law's we currently have on the book's were enforced, there would be no need for more law's. This would equal better quality fisherie's for all concerned.
This "whale war's" thing is nothing more than hype, a fraud. Those are supposed to be educated folk's he has for crew. Make's me wonder what "educated" mean's these day's? There will be an "event" that causes some serious injury, I just hope the camera's are running! I'm sure that would help rating's, that's what it's all about anyway. Frank
