    SCUBA Sponsor? From Canada ??!?!!

    Hey guys,

Question for everyone here. How many of you have or are looking for some sort of scuba gear (mask, to regs, everything) or Spearing gear?

We are interested in sponsoring the site but we wanted to see how many of you would be interested in our products. The other thing we also wanted to put out there is we're in Canada, Ontario to be exact.

Would you guys be adverse with crossboarder shopping? We would be shipping postal service so you wouldn't have to worry about big duties like ups and fedex can impose. The only problem you might run into is some duties here and there. Which at most would be probably LESS then the local taxes you would pay. The plus is since we're Canadian, we would bill you in CANADIAN dollars. Right now thats approx a 20-25% savings over buying in US dollars.

We've been in business for over 35 years and are a bricks and mortor store. Mainly a Mares dealer so thats what we perfer to sell but can get most anything you might desire.

So there you have it, let me hear your thoughts and if anyone might be interested.

    Thanks!

    Doug

The next bite on a jig.
I noticed a lot of bottom fisherman and jiggers also were divers and had called Admin and suggested a diving forum (as a subforum of the jigging forum) about a month ago.

My thinking was that it could grow into its own forum, just like the jigging forum had done.

If you can get it started on its own right off the gate through sponsorship, then I say go for it. I know there are as many divers as there are jiggers....and maybe more.

I'm behind it 100%......but my vote is not the one that counts.

gradywhite - We have never charged more for xx, even xxxl. They are always the same price. We have had to have some custom suits made up in the xxx-xxxxl sizes and they have been a little more but never much.

xxl are always the same as the rest of the sizes of that suit.

You can tell me I'm out of line here, and I'll crawl back in my shell.

There is a reason that Leisure Pro is so popular, so hated and so successful. They have the price to beat anyone, the size to back it up with inventory and the money to market themselves all over the world.

And yet, they are still hated in the dive community while we secretely order our stuff from them and they promise to deliver in discrete brown evelopes so the neighbors won't know.

Here's my point, I would visit a dive forum here, and probably even order some stuff now and then, but they would have to be able to compete.

Does this make any sense? I only mean this as an honest assesment if it were my money being invested.

If you move forward, I would visit the forum, but I wonder about the popularity.

Here's another analogy: I fish the great lakes. Fresh water. We go out in 8' seas, get beat to hell, catch big fish, spend a lot of money. But, if you started a great lakes forum, there would be "relatively" limited activity and therefor you probably woundn't want to sponsor a "great lakes forum" because its a financial decision and not to be made out of enthusiasm.

Good luck with what you decide, but don't forget, its your money. bet with your head, not your heart.
