Two thoughts come to mind....

First, the cliche "With friends like that, who needs enemies"

Second, alcohol abuse and boating don't mix. I've heard the USCG can conficate your boat if you are caught BWI. The only beer on my boat is O'Douls.

The guy never thanked us, but he was shaken up beyond belief. He seemed drunk, but and 40 min. in the water could have waken him up a bit. The last thing I heard was that the Coast Guard did confiscate their boat, as they didn't have any life saving equipment, and the vessel was deemed unsafe.

I thank you guys for recognizing the situation for what it is. It takes a real boater to understand the responsibility of what we do for enjoyment.

On a positive note: My girlfriend and I will have a picture in Florida Sportsman Magazine for a fish we (she) caught in Naples, FL. An amazing Redfish, so keep an eye out. Just starting to realize how great my girl is, scans all day for breaking fish, and lands a Redfish big enough to get my ugly mug in a magazine.
