Sat Phones

I have been putting off getting a sat phone for a few years now due to the issues with globalstar. I am going to spring for an Iridium phone this year, after looking at some posts and listening to what you guys have said I feel it is the right way to go. We will be going to Miami next week maybe I can get a boat show special or find a deal. Any insight you guys have I would love to hear. Phone type,used phones, best plan for emergencies or any general info. It won't be long until we are fishing in the deep and I would like to have it with me.
