What do you guys think. I say the circus left town and tears in heaven both by eric clapton and both about his son that died.

Not withstanding the two you listed -- both good choices -- I would say Whiskey Lullaby by Brad Paisly and Alison Krauss.
He has got to be the saddest guy around...

Have to agree with whiskey lullaby.----Tan triste, so sad.
im gonna have to agree with all of ya'll. tears in heaven all time classic and very very sad, saw him play it live a looong time ago and you can tell it takes something out of him when he plays it. Whiskey lullaby is also a very sad one as well, and i like "wicked" by chris isaak to.
Well, until a little over four years ago I would have said that the saddest song I knew was the "Wedding March"...
I dunno. Tears in Heaven is sad, but only if you know the story behind it.
Chris Izzak's music will make youn wanna reach for the single edge razor blade whether you know him or not.
Dont take the girl by Tim McGraw...this song was popular when my wife was pregnant with our 2nd daughter...that song touched my heart and scared the hell out of me at the same time.
