I always hate hearing about this kind of news, I have been diving for many years. I do alot of spearfishing up and down the coast of the eastren shore and have been in some rather close encounters with sharks but never had a problem. Just as long as you give them some respect, if you are spearfishing and a shark comes around they usually give you a warning before something will happen take the warning and drop your fish and leave. don't try to be a super hero and hold on to your prize you will never win, unless you are armed with a bangstick but don't always rely on the bangstick it's just for backup. but sometimes they just have a torn in there ass and there is nothing you can do just try to get away by perging your air and making a bunch of bubbles to try to get away.

Rule #1... don't be getting sharks confused!

My wife actually works with them everyday. They (dive boats) feed them for the $ it brings! When you chum up a shark he looses the fear and instint takes over! I jokeingly tell my customers that fish or dive with us that "they are a Garbage Can with Teeth!" Never do we feed sharks from our boat! Swimming with sharks has a limit not alone to start feeding them. This last year we had sharks from south of Cat cay to North of Bimini on EVERY dive or snorkle we did! Even a cool looking 5' one that was highly upset that we were looking for a lobster on "HIS" lobster pallet. Everyone of you should watch sharkwater also it is a documentary of sharks and what will happen to them and our oceans if we keep going this way. I Fish! so yes I catch sharks...hell swordfishing out here at night you can see sharks eat a small swordfish like a tic tac. If you do ever catch a shark though and keep it we would like to have a fin clip from it. I see people that swim out in bait balls of mullet here ..ya want to laugh but you always wonder what the hell is warped up in the brain area...??? Falling coaconuts still kill more people than sharks... so do toasters.. tell your friends and dive boats to not feed them if your planning on diveing...life is way too short for stupid mistakes! Every time we have ever been to bull run or turtle rocks you see sharks if you need a thrill...just don't feed them they do well on thier own!

Standing at teh dock at Sea Crest when those 2 bulls came meandering in was enough for the pucker factor to increase by 10. I soiled my drawers on land. Why the hell would anyone get in the water with them is beyond me.
