I sit here and type this with wet eyes
Had to put down one of my girls today
Knew someday we would have to do it but I never realized how hard it would be.
They are like one of your kids, makes you sick to your stomach
Damn dogs


She was a stray that turned out to be the best dog in the world!!!!

Something happened to her neurologically over the weekend, this morning she didn't know who we were or her own name. So it was for the best

Sorry to hear this. We just went through losing one of ours last month. I was sick for a week or more. Just concentrate on the good times. It isn't easy, but I hope you get through this rough time OK. Best wishes.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Hard decisions for our 4 legged friends are never easy. Had something happen to mine that was very similar. You gave her peace and her dignity. She was a good looking girl.

Man! sorry to hear that!! I know how it feels bro because sure as i sit here and type this, my heart is becoming heavier with each key stroke. I'm quickly approaching the 2 yr date of having to put my 7 yr old Brittany, Spiller, down from complications from lyme disease. He was a great dog, as most dogs are. He was given to me on my birthday and he was also taken from me around the same time. Very hard because they are family. I cried like a baby as he went in my arms..................still do at times. Like now...
