    rod transportation

    WTF...looked everywhere for a roof top rod carrier...Thule used to make one,but its discontinued..heading from NC to Texas,driving,as to hit some spots on the way down, have 10 6-7' rods that wont fit in truck without damaging them..any suggestions...Thanks

    Guess there's alway's the obvious. Big PVC pipe with plugs in the ends. I know taking the reel's off is an inconvienence, but beat's breaking them. Frank

    you can get the thule ski racks.. They work the same.. put the reel between them and the rod between the soft plastics and close em down onto the rod..You can take the reels off if you want to or just put covers onto them and you shuold be good to go!!

    a lot of smaller SUV's around here riding on the beach have them for transport.. i kinda like it! selling my big azz rack for my pick up because those would be easier!

    Yea, thats what i ended up with..holds 14 rods w/ no reels,
