    Rod rack for offshore rigs

I have been searching for a home rod rack that will accomodate offshore rod / reel combos. I have a few of the Cabelas / Offshore Angler type rod holders that are just not meant to handle heavy rigs. I can't stand having to balance my rigs so the rack does not fall over only to pull a rod and have it fall over anyways.
Anyone else found a solution or built their own?
I do need a rack that can be moved at times so a wall mount won't work.
I found this one and it looks like it will do the job and can be ordered stained in a variety of colors.

Do a search on this site. There has been a thread about this with some very good ideas for making storage racks.

    Check out Melton

I bought two racks from Melton, they are called Rod Logs. Made of PVC, no wheels but I'm sure you could add them. Here's a link

Just make your own out of pvc. Use T connectors and space them appropriately. Then put a 1 foot piece of pvc vertically out of the t connector. Use 90* elbows on the ends to make as many as you want. I'll post a pic later because I can't really describe it any better than that and I know that isn't clear.

Here is one that I modified. I like it because I can wheel it around the garage.

I built this on my garage wall, you can space them how you want for fifferent size reels. Takes up hardly any room. I ran it down the length of one wall and it has 20 rods on it. No big rack to move around. If I was to do it again, I would go with 1 2x8 and put the clamps at the top and bottom. My buddy did almost the same thing, but no clamps, he drilled holes in the pipe then sent screws tthrough the back side of the pipe to hold them on

Thanks for the help with the pics guys

Double D - I knew your pic was around here somewhere but I didn't have time to look for it this morning. I did the same thing but made it real big so my bait freezer could fit inside.
