Now to play devils advocate......Unfortunately,in this day and age , what with freaks , pedophiles , voyeurs etc... one must praise the cop for being vigilant. Imagine a car parked outside your home with someone sitting looking down in there lap with a look of concentration on there face and there arms moving slightly......what would you do? I have a 2.3 yr old girl..sure enough , if that were my neighborhood,he'd be lucky if i called the 5-0,I am sorry for the plight of your friend,as one sharing a similar scenario ( wife - Yale grad - owner of Pilate s studio - best mom of the year's award) who went in, due to overzealous doctors and there dam drug scrips, 6 months of being Mr Mom. We, as Americans, have every right to come and go as we please in public. Of course the laws of our land appropriately can deny this if one is causing a disturbance or threat to anyone. However, our Constitution protects our rights to go wherever we want in public. --- Consider the cases of a black man in a white neighborhood in the 1960's, many cases have found that the black man has every right to be in such a neighborhood without having to justify why they are there as long as there is no realiswtic threat.

I agree...i just didn't sound like i did, i thought it was good the cop questioned john,just to see whats what ,But your right,there was no reason,legal or otherwise to kick him off the block, i guess my point was poorly written...My reasoning was based on looking at the registered sex offender website for Little River,SC right after my daughter was born...freaked me out,so we moved to Ocean Isle,NC , overzealous , i know,but when i was growing up,that shit wasn't as common as it is now. plus the crappy economy makes for more home invasions and other residential crime,never too safe. Although, i will say , wife is getting to be a better shot every day....

it happens, I woulda moved 20 feet forward and went back to my email.

I got ran through a road sobriety test at 7 am 5 minutes after I got the call my grandpa passed away unexpectedly. Cop said I was either drunk or trippin. My dad tore the cop a new ass and I know he got in trouble when I walked into the chiefs office and through my speeding ticket payment and my pops obit on his desk.

My uncles a k-9 officer, I know there's good cops out there. 9 times out of 10 I have had to deal with a blowhard tackle berry that should not be given a badge. Honestly you were doing no wrong, just trying to help someone out. I think I would have ended up in cuffs over this
