No question - LED is the way to go. I am slowly converting all of the boat's running lights to LED, as well.

The wife's headlights are still real - no LEDs there

    Angry LEDS

I have been through two sets of LEDS in two years. They keep getting water inside. The last set was only dunked 3 or 4 times last summer and quit before the end of the year. They have a ten year warranty but I have yet to have a set last a full season. What brands has anyone had good results with?
