Rescuers fined for saving Deer

yes Maryland is "fine" happy....the Maryland DNR (Dept. Natural Resources) Police fined 2 men for rescuing a deer in frozen water...here is the story...http://www.wbaltv.com/news/26190428/detail.html

ok i have 2 questions...

1) if it was a child instead of a deer would the men be fined by the DNR Police or ANY Police agency for that matter....??

2) since an animal was saved will PETA step up and pay the fines for the men...??

everyday i find myself asking why and how people justify what they do.....

Scotty, I agree with the law here. A mans life is not the same as a dumb deer. If the men get in trouble trying to do this stupid act then rescue squads need to risk their life to save them. Risking a mans life to rescue a deers life seems really dumb to me. After all, someone is going to just shoot it the next day and mount it. Good intentions cant be disguised with stupidity.
