A REEL DIFFERENCE?

IS THERE A REEL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TIAGRA 80WA AND THE 50WLRSA OTHER THAN THE LINE CAPACITY AND OBVIOUS SIZE. THE DRAG PRESSURES ARE SPEC THE SAME BUT WITH THE SPOOL BEING LARGER WITH LINE ON IT WOULD'NT THE DRAG BE A LITTLE MORE ON THE 80.

You nailed the difference in the beginning... Capacity... I use both. If I'm going to go digging for big pig blues, giant bluefins, mako zillas, or slob swords I'm gonna employ the big girls... If its other tough fish that aren't subject to smokin 700 yards or more in a burst the 50 series gets the nod. Right now down here we have a good sword bite going on . Most are small but there have been some monsters. One went over 11 hours on an 80w the other night with 35lbs of drag before breaking offf. So we get caught up in that situation: Use the 80's and be over gunning the small ones? Or use the 50's and regret it when the slob monster spools you?
