I am a ship's captain - from waaay up North in Canada and my F-I-L has turned over his "handle" to me. While I don't have as much time to respond, I will to the best of my ability answer them correctly.

    Capt. Abe

Thanks - we departed Resolute harbour late last night just ahead of the pack ice! Heading to Pang to fish turbot for a few weeks, then down to Iqaluit to unload.

    An Old Jeep Steering Wheel,

For a helm??? Nice looking boat's, there Capt Abe. I can surely say I miss the commercial fishing biz, been "out of it" for about 12 year's now. What all do you fish for and where? I'd love to see some "on deck" photo's, you and your crew in action. Frank

We fish Turbot from Baffin Island to Greenland and Iceland. Then for tuna and mixed bag - Madeira, Cape Verde, Canaries, all the way to RSA. Last year we contracted for tuna in Oz, but couldn't fulfill it. The old boat went to the scrapper in the RSA.

So we just took a tour up to Mombassa, then over to the Seychelles and Oz-NZ and flew home. The new boat is in Amsterdam and will be christened next January. Currently we are on Alice's Dream III - 28m (old crabber).

How do you tunafish Ozimo? Longlining or purse seine? When you say "mixed bag" what does it include other than tuna?

thanks for giving us an insight into the commercial scene
