    Angry Record Setting !!!

Figured I'd get my Friday rant rockin good and early...

If there was a category for Record Nightmare seasons this one is definately in the running. I had an off season a couple years back with an engine rebuild from hell... But this one is in the running for overal the worst IN season ever.

This year has produced the fewest booking of any of my 30 years in the trade. I booked more between class and weekend trips in college than I did this year.

Lets take that a step further with the no shows I talked about this week setting a new record. 7 last minute no shows and 12 different groups saying they were comming "in a couple weeks... save me at least one weekend day" never even left home.

Then we have the weather... I don't think we had any cold fronts at all during peak time. We had steady 15-20 from east southeast almost all season starting in November That made it bumpy in side and I don't think I saw good sword weather ten nights all season. Now we are caught up in a wind tunnel from hell with steady 20-25 which slams the door all together . This one has been going nearly a month. Gave up four precious booking this week so far. Looks like four more comming up. Then the projected calm down for early week was just erased from the forecast and promises to be 20+ from the northeast as far as the forecast stretches...

Already working on optional routes to get to Chub. Intercoastal til Miami... Go at trolling speed to Bimini? Once there I'm good to go but a full day to get to Miami via ditch... I'm not totally out of my mind yet but getting there. Who ever brought the wind , please turn it off and go back home...

I thought we were all supposed to hit a westerly wall at appoximately 8:30?!?!?! was I the only one that broke my shoulder?

You'll be safely in Chub, catching and releasing all the blues you want before you know it.

Still sucks about the no-shows though. Get deposits I say..

They're understating by about half... Have reliable info its 8-10' out there... and tight... If it was just big I wouldn't mind... Its the tight stuff thats the bugger...
Really don't want to go three thousand pounds heavy to the islands in that crap on the head for 140 miles... And against the current...

Sometimes I wonder why we don't have submarines instead of big, expensive rocking horses....never have to worry about the wind, rain or waves with a sub...but makes for gaffing a mako a little tough.
