The Liberal part is MSNBC doing the story they tend to lean a little left. They're also the ones that as they put it "explored the adversity index". Like they said there are different ways to translate or read the index. I believe their title says "Recession ends in 79 metro areas". What part of that isnt clear? I live close enough to several of those areas (NC) and I would hardly say the recession is over just because home prices have leveled off. Which I believe was one of their defining points. It states that this is the first month that the index has moved from "recession" to "recovery". So one month of fluctuation has MSNBC shouting "Recession over!!!" WTF?
Do they really think that proclaiming the recession over is going to have the same effect as when they caused the panic in the first place with all of their prophecies of doom last year?

Duck Miester,

The one point that I most suredly agree on is simply this: The media played a huge hand in "talking' this recession into being. You tell someone they're sick enough times guess what, they start to feel sick. When the fuel prices went through the roof, because of greed, the hand writing was on the wall. When fuel prices double, everything associated with it double's as-well. When the media started the propheciey of a second and much worse "depression", the bid was sealed.
Were there serious problem's, absolutely. But when panic set's in you don't know who to believe. For the most part I have as much love for the media, as I do for lawyer's (not all lawyers are jerk's) and the insurance industry. Not saying much! Frank
