Hey man yes went to NO on octber 7th of that year and lived under the louisa street bridge for 4 months. Could not get into venice as that was my original goal.
I bought a machine and helped out 7 days a week.
After christmas I was able to get into the parish and head to venice. Where I meet Acy Cooper and I moved to the River Side Restruant in Venice and started doing free house demo for the people there.
Now what was amazing was the members of this site saw my photos formed a stuff a camper tour and brought in well over 100k of goods campers and money into Venice.
My heart is with those guys and would move there in a heart beat as I meet so many wonderful people and love the place.
If any one has interest we could bring the thread back to life and show you all the vids and photos from our 7month stint at katrina.

With all the New Guys..It might be a good idea just so they can see the type of community you have built here. That thread was one of the most powerful messages about the people here that rings true each day I sign in.
Yes, I was there the day before catching tarpon of all things in buras canal. That was the first and only time I saw that many tarpon that far inland in the area. I was fishing out of Joshua's marina right across from the big american flag by the baseball field. It completely transformed the whole area. I am happy to report things are a whole lot closer to normalcy than they have been since she rolled in. You guys are a great group of folks to come down there and help out like you did and my hat is off to you. I had to head to Orange Beach to continue to make a living fishing. Yes, you are right about the caliber of people down there. They will do anything for a friend and go completely out of their way for a total stranger. I hope the fish were thankful to you guys if you ever got a chance to take a break for your gesture of help. It is a special place and some of the best fishing I have ever seen. You guys are the chit!!![]()
