I have a Valentine One - it is by far the best detector on the market and has saved me many times. The arrows are addictive...

Valentine 1, Don't leave home without it. 5 years, no tickets. You make the run down 50E To Ocean City and you will pick them up 1 - 2 miles away on the nice straight a way's, can usually pick up the speed awareness sign in front of the citgo/royal farms about 1 - 2 minutes before I pass it.

The arrows on the V1 tell you how many cops are pinging you and where they are - ahead, behind or off to the side. I've had it show me two up ahead and one behind, then I watched as one peeled off to follow me. I pulled over to the side and so did the cops.
I then got back on the road (A1A on Islamorada in the Florida Keys), slowed to 30 miles an hour in a 40 zone and smiled as they both finally went past me. They were jonesing to bust me in my Porsche. If I hadn't had the Valentine, I would have been nailed by the douchebags behind me.

    Ticket Prevention

IMO the greatest invention for the prevention of getting pulled for speeding is..............

    CRUISE CONTROL

    The trick is, DON'T SPEED.

Here's a true cruise control success story:

Some years ago I was returning to Norfolk from the Morehead City, NC area where my parents lived. Between Washington and Williamston, NC on US 17 I was chugging along in my Dakota with my cruise set at about 57 MPH. Yeah, I know, I WAS speeding.

Some guy in a Ranger came up and started riding my bumper and looking around me for enough space to pass. He finally got his chance and came around me. I looked over as he passed, and saw a CB antenna, a radar detector, and the guy flipping me the finger. He sped on down the road..........

Couple of miles later, just south of Williamston, there he was. On the shoulder of the road, with Johnny Law parked behind him. The guy looked at me as I chugged on past, still at 57 MPH. I looked back and just

The foot is not a good speed control device. It gets heavier and heavier as you drive. Use the cruise control. I haven't had a speeding ticket in over 20 years.

I agree about the cruise control I use mine all the time of course it is a non descript F250 gray. Not Arrest me red or bust me black. The cops I used to know have in in for dudes in spendy sports cars too.

I agree that not speeding will keep you from getting speeding tickets, but....... I do not know anyone except my grandma in her Toyotoa Pious that actually does the speed limit on Card Sound Road in the Keys. That road - when it's empty, of course, is mucho fun at Warp 9.
