Question regarding Ebay and lure purchases...just won auction and now there's a probl
OK, I just won an Ebay auction today and thought I made a good score for a change.
The seller had nice pictures etc so here's my problem.
The seller had 3 new Black Bart MINI ANGLE 1656's pictured. All of these lures appeared to be rigged in the auction. I receive an email stating that I won the auction so I went back and looked at the auction again.
It appears that somebody asked the seller if the lures were rigged and he stated NO.
You might notice that the question was asked before my bid was placed. You might also wonder why I bid after somebody asked the question.
When I use Ebay I have a bidding program where I enter my max amount and forget about the auction. The program places the bid near the end of the auction.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...43298150&rd=1&...
If you had been bidding on these lures what would have thought about the rigging based on the seller's info and pics?
I emailed the seller this afternoon and have yet to receive a response.
I would like some input before I make an ass of myself.
Last but not least...What color to choose!!!!!

Showing a rigged picture is pretty deceptive if he isn't selling it rigged. But that being said. I would not in a zillion years trust somebody i don't know to do the rigging. If I buy a lure on there that is rigged, the first thing I do is cut the rig off and do it myself... I can trust me... So you really didn't lose out on anything... I can tell you how to rig it for about three or four bucks...
As for the color... Down south I would take the bottom one. Up north I would take the top... Again... Skirts are cheap and easily changed... That mini 1656 slan is one of my favorite baits of all time...If i wasn't so damn honorable and honest I would copy it in a blink for myself.

I'm also leery of other people's rigging, but I figured the hook set would be salvageable in nothing else. I'm still nowhere near as confident as I'd like to be in my stiff rig hook sets. If you can make them please shoot me a PM with details on price etc.
It's still a decent price on the lure, but It's not what I thought I was bidding on.

If you've got a crimper I'll send you a rig for it... Screw hook sets... I rig the way Bart does for himeslf...

I have a crimper....
BTW: you have NO idea how impressed I am with your latest fishing report. We aren't blessed with marlin in GA like you guys to the north and south. I've logged many an hour pulling bait and I have 1 little white to my credit.

Slide south off Jacksonville about 50 off or get up about 60 off charleston this time of year and there are actually a bunch to be had.

With the question being asked about the rigging you have no fight. If that question was not asked you had a legit complaint with seller. Best bet unless you do not mind NEG feedback is pay for the items. Seems friends here are willing to lend a hand helping you out good luck a final note Since I am trying to get into fishing offshore I have started to buy small amounts of needed items always ask questions before bidding especially if you can not tell exactly how the items will arrive. I have found this helps me out when i want to place a bid. Just my thought is all

Well all of your problems can be solved when I finish getting back into production and listing again. Should only be a few more weeks... I know the good guys on there and who is full of the ol crapola. If I don't have it I can point you at the guys who do and who are honest...

JB, I understand what you are saying.
I programed my bid for lure several days before the question was asked.
One should be able to expect to receive what is pictured in an auction otherwise the picture is worthless. The exception is when the seller is using a generic picture and discloses that fact.
Deep C-MANY THANKS FOR YOUR HELP REGARDING THIS MATTER!!!!
