when you're docking your boat are there any rules on throwing a cast net off the dock?

I can see it's dangerous for you, but if the government trusts me, maybe you could. Agitated88's Avatar

    Exclamation Well, it depends...

private or public. If I don't know owner, I'll either ask permission or avoid...public...well...it's public, cast at will. My 2 cents...

At the Southport Marina they have signs saying no throwing cast nets from the dock. Its mainly so the mud that comes up with the nets isn't left on the dock. You can throw off the boat but not off the dock.
