Had a double header today with repeat trips from Darren this morning and Ashley and Pete this afternoon. Darren had another great trip with a showing of 3 for 10 with a 70ish fish he fought for 1 and ahalf hours that as I was grabbing it he gave it a little slack and the twisted line from the battle wrapped aroun the rod tip and he made one surge and it broke off Great guy and fun trip TRhis afternoon was slow, I caught my first pr permit...in the net We went everywhere and only a couple of cudas and no poon bites. At 7 I suggested we tie up in the marina and fish until the taxi arrived. First let me say Pete was a trip He is a 20 year old marine who definately likes to hear himself talk His mouth was never idle for more than a few seconds. His main topic was soft plastics...He calls them rubbers I finally set him up with a swimbait to keep him occupied while I pulled my hair out looking for a biter. Ok, I had assured him he was casting for no reason and live bait was the ticket, and blah blah blah, rubbers rubbers rubbers The taxi arrived and he ask to cast once more, I'm like, sure dude knock yourself out and predictably he hooks a 35 on 8lb in the marina. 30 minutes and alot of weaving in and around pilings and bertrams we put him on the boat. Just another example of me not knowing everything and that guy murphy popping up when you least expect it All in all a fun and interesting day
