I must say that when I opened this essay, it struck a note with me. Perhaps it is because we have become increasingly impotent as Americans in controlling our own destinies. We mostly go along with what is happening to us without complaint. Doug Giles, however, is a man with spirit. He is of the age when folks knew how to look out for themselves. Another of my favorites is that rock singer conservative, Ted Nugent. He would not be one to mess with.
