We too have a Solid Fleet of Fords... 12 or so vehicles in the Fleet all Ford.

I just purchased a Chevy Last week - Used.. Nothing New... And I have to say that I am impressed. This was my 1st Chevy I ever owned.

I am finding that ALL OF MY FORDS are ROTTING out in the Rockers and behind the cab. We run all F250 & F450's and the older models (And I dont mean 80's... I mean LATE 90's.. Like 1997) are getting harder and harder to Pass inspection w/ the body rot.

Yeah... I'm a Ford Man... been all my life BUT, I'm starting to seriously think about another make and model! (Wish I could do that w/ my WIFE!!!!!!)

    Happy Holidays!
    Ryan

    FYI - 2006 Fords = 0%. 2007 Fords = No 0%

I think someone else already said it but...if you own a truck to do serious work, i.e. heavy hauling, lots of hard miles, etc get a diesel. Otherwise, get gas...the diesel just will not pay for itself after you figure the upfront cost of the diesel and then fuel and maintenance. Not unusual to get 150,000 miles on a gas engine these days with little to no major repairs.

As for which truck...coin flip on Dodge or Ford. I own a Dodge and love it, V8 with 102,000 miles...NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, just normal maintenance. Chevy may be a good truck, but I can't get past their looks...especially that ugly ass grill.

Ain't that the truth. Many GM guys switched to Professional Grade (GMC) for that very reason.
I tell ya, I don't think you'd go wrong with any of the big three these days-- gas or diesel.

I agree Glenn. And it's amazing how much better looking the GMC is versus the Chevy.

    ok...

I know I am gonna get a rippin from all you diesel guys but here it goes...

I have never owned a diesel and never could justify owning one. But, I have been around them... They stink and they are loud!!! Yes, the newer ones are alot quieter but they are STILL loud...

I won't Rip ya one Shane...

It's a Dsl.. They are Work trucks (For the most part)

Back in the day when there was a big differance in Fuel prices the decision was Much Easier. There was a 20-25% Gap between Dsl and Gas (If not more) and the upgrade was about 4K for a Dsl vs. Gas (At least in 1995 it was). Usually in about 5-6 years the Dsl. paid for itself USING the Dsl v. Gas price Gap comparision.

Now... The gap is Greater so, it makes the decision process Harder.
