LOL Deep, "sharpen the props" cracked me up. Props aren't my problems on getting speed, it's the engines!

But, you do raise a point with prep work.... Even on a kayak there is some that can be overlooked, and the more "pimped out" it is, the more there is to be done. We've had a couple of trips where my FF/GPS wasn't working right because of some corossion on power connections that I didn't check, rudders that didn't deploy because I didn't check, and etc.

So, you're right, you can never do enough prep work, things get overlooked or forgotten, even on your own kayak!
