PRAYERS NEEDED
Hey Guys,
What a crazy weekend. Headed to West Point VA for Crab Carnival and to visit my parents. they live on the water in downtown WP. Got down there Friday night around 8ish. Water was already over the bulkhead and heading towards the house. Spent most of the night keeping the water out of the downstairs. Really not that big of a deal since its the garage, a mud room and storage. Step dad does have big money invested in the power tools. Bagged up the garage doors and just kept vaccuming water as it seeped in.
Mama woke me up early Saturday morning. Almost 4 hours til high tide and it was already getting close to coming in the house. We had some people helping us and everything was good.
Stepdad and a friend went down to lift the boat up a little higher. The wire on the lift itself was hot and my stepdad got wacked really bad with 220. My friend who was down there had enough sense to kill the power. I heard him yelling for help so I ran down there.
Stepdad was out. Heartbeat but not breathing. The sight of it is something that I will never be able to get out of my head.
Leaned his head back and tried to open his mouth to check his airway. He was so tensed up that I had to pry his mouth open with my thumb. His tongue was blocking his airway so I had to get it suppressed so he could breath while he is biting the hell outta my fingers.
As soon as I got his airway open he started coughing up blood and everything else. What a sigh of relief. About 30 seconds later he becomes conscience. He actually walked off the pier with some help and the ambulance was there to take over.
This was all taking place on the dock that was level with the water and we were getting hit with whitecaps the whole time.
Fought off the flood tide til about 130 when it finally fell enough to clean everything up.
my stepdad got released from the hospital yesterday. He is doing OK, but is very tired and sore.
Thanks to all friends and family that were there to help out this weekend and to the West Point Volunteer Fire and Rescue for assisting so quickly!!!!
