    Prank or?

    Something a little bit more...???

Theres something interesting about a really clean boat. I mean the kind of clean where you mop of your foot prints as you leave. When a boat is that clean its so damn easy to tell when somebody unwanted has been aboard. Having an asphalt drive next to the dock leaves just a tiny bit of residue that on a bright white deck stands out as sharp.
Well I got to see such prints this morn so I checked my security cams. This week though I had bumped the one with IR capability just out of line to where that ppic isn't clear. Thats ok the marina cams got some better shots and the ones at the electronics dealer near my boat got ones that will be enhanced.
Now on my initial inspection of the boat today I knew somebody had been there but couldn't find an issue. Nothing missing or really out of place. They did leave a little subtle hint though they had been in the bow cabin. With nothing amiss what am I gonna report to authorities "well I saw footprints..."
Well you gotta love dumbasses that do something knowing that cameras are rolling all over. You gotta love it more when they don't see the person on a boat a couple slips away who when I asked this eve, stated not only that they saw them and could identify them but there was quite a bit of noise comming from the bow.
So I got to looking.......... Cute........ They inverted and knotted up the anchor line up in the bow locker so it couldn't have been deployed. And yes it would have been last night cause once a week I go over each safety item on that boat including inspecting the anchor line. We don't anchor to fish. It is a piece of SAFETY EQUIPMENT.
Instead of this thread being about a prank it could be about somebody getting their fingers chopped off when feeding the chain which is always kept in a free and ready state through the windlass. It could be about not being able to anchor up after losing power near the inlet and being dashed on the rocks. It could be a lot of things but being alert avoided a problem.
So the same officer that was alerted before about possible tampering has been notified about this and with the tape from the electronics dealer ought to have no problem getting a clear pic of the perp.
Prank? Is it worth jeopardizing a career on a petty b+e with criminal tresspass charge? Putting the wife, kid and lifestyle on the line over something this immature and inane?

    No ...
He and I have no issues and besides, he's up north.

I have no tensions with anybody local. The only people I have any disagreement at all are right on this site. Thats a very small handful. Then we have to narrow that list down to who knows where the boat is. Even smaller like way way small. All we gotta do to figure out who might fit the pic is figure who might have been in the area at this time that meets all that other criteria.

I didn't touch the anchor line.

Seriously, I'd be pissed if someone knotted up my anchor line. Prank or knot.

Well no real harm done but I think of what might have happened. My mate knows that the whole rode is kept free and easy to flow out. He wouldn't be expecting a snag while feeding the chain to the windlass and could easy have been pulled down and into it.
Stupidity didn't stop at not covering their tracks (which are also on the 31). Stupidity didn't stop at knowing the place has some really high tech surveilance stuff. Stupidity didn't stop to think about what the consequences might have been... "Oh boy Deepy is gonna go to drop the anchor and wont be able to. Maybe his boss will get pissed and yell at him" was the extent of their feeble imaginations.
What I get a kick out of is how they under estimate me... I didn't get this old being stupid... When someone is in touch with their machines as much as I am with my seven day a week investment I know when somebodys been there. They seem to forget that my local mate is a cop and gets really cranky when somebody messes with "his boat". The dolts that did this fail to see that under normal circumstances cops would take a report and forget it but when it happens to one of their own they take it personal.

i thought you were merrily off to go catch fish, more ******** from your rotten teeth mouth. maybe you were drunk and knotted the line unwittingly. I'm not surprised that it took other security systems to catch the incident and not yours. Your ineptitude is humorous. I think you must be the "cliff cleaven" in your marina down there.
