Pop ups

Has the site been sponcored by all these different pop ups or is it my computer acting up? Where there normally are sponcor advertisements flashing for example squidnation or stalker outfitters, now its saying congrats you won an iphone

Now its flashing about pro active face wash

And its not additional pop ups, their actually on the site it seems.

Any one else seeing this or am i going nuts?

also.. when was the last time you ran a virus scan?

i figured i was.

I actually ran a virus scan yesterday. With all the emails this computer gets it stays bogged down with junk.

Just wasnt sure since it looks like the advertisements are on the site where the sponcors normally are.

Weird..but thanks any way!

I think it's related to the computer. I don't get it on any of my computers at work, but I get exactly what you describe on the wife's computer at home.

If you find the cure please let me know. I already had to reformat hers once because she picked up some really nasty ad-ware. It brought the computer to a screeching halt from pop-ups.

Having all kinds of Computer woes here!! Keep having a anti virus message pop up and can't get it to stop. Sometimes email works sometimes not. Some sites I can goto some not. Anyone know how to reset the whole shooting match. Can't get any work done. Sucks!!

Has your home page link changed? Sounds if you have a trojan ad-ware infection. They are not typically fatal, but can be a real pain to eradicate. If your homepage keeps changing, then you are definitely hijacked. And don't go to the page that is trying to sell you the security software to remove the ad-ware, they are the ones that created the hijack.

you could try a system restore from before you were having issues... but i have a question... is the anti virus message from your own virus software or is it something else - like you need to download some antivirus 2009?? there is a nasty virus going around that produces that message...

it was a bitch getting rid of it... and i can't find the exact instructions to remove it but i did find this which is similiar to what i went through:

you also might search the database of your own antivirus software to see if they have any solutions... but i did use malwarebytes and another thing called IC Sweep... i have both if you want me to mail them to you but i don't remember the exact order in which to do the steps...
