    POON QESTION??????

in this picture they are taping the poon(shaft). say you stick the fish and you have to let go of the poon...... or you throw it .. what if the tape breaks?? are you out of a poon??? will the poon stay attacked to line even if that fish takes it under???? when does the head come off?

    thanks-austin

The tape is supposed to brake. The dart stays in the fish and the harpoon itself falls away. The harboon shaft gets clipped to the poon line and is retrieved when you retrieve your fish. At least that is the way I understand it - Got my poon at the CR seminar and can't wait to try it out.

The Offshore Innovation guys were at the CR seminar in person - I bought it directly from them. Real nice guys, I bet they would be happy to answer your question. I just checked out their site and the have a section on rigging.

I've got 200' of 3/8. Going to keep it in either a milk crate or possibly a small duffel bag, which should be easier to stow.

Also, make sure you sharpen your darts - they are not the least bit sharp when you get them.

it would be easier to stow, but i would go for a milk crate. it will corrode if it isnt dried after use and stored in a bucket and i assume it will in a duffel as well. it dries out in the milk crate...
