second the benchmade

I have had this one for 2 yrs. I just have to find the tool to tighten the clip, it has gotten a little loose.

One of my other knives went for a ride on the cast net too. Lucky to get that one back, put your knives inside your pocket while catching bait!!

I carry a gerber - it is about $20.00 - not a big deal if it goes swimming. Holds a decent edge...

I have had a bad habit of losing pocket knives except for a big case knife but it is too big for the pocket. I picked up this CRKT knife at Mast General Store while in the mountains and I like it.

Well I got my knives today. I replaced the Spyderco, with a Spyderco Delica. Still one of my favorites easy open and close with one hand and cuts everything.
Also, I got the Kershaw Ken Onion Chive. It's perfect for an everyday pocket knife. Small enough, that if I take it out to open a package people won't flinch The opening mechanism is pretty slick, and I like the lock so it doesn't open by accident. I'm not a big fan of the closing method as it seems the only safe way to do it is with 2 hands. But overall a great knife with a very sharp edge and nice finish.

BTW- We don't stock pocket knives, but if anyone is looking for one, we have access to most of the good companies and I would be happy to give deep discounts to any SFC members interested.

What I look for in a pocket knife or any knife in general is that it is hollow ground so much easier to keep that shaving edge to it.
And only use ceramic stones to sharpen.
I have a sweet little Winchester lock blade that I carry day to day.

Here is mine. It is a Kershaw, Ken Onion model. It has power assist opening.

I modified it to be easier to open by pressing a larger thumb stud on the existing one. It is a thumb screw off of a roofing hammer. the handle had to be modified some to let it open and close completly. but that hasn't affected its performance at all. The larger thumb stud makes it very fast.

you may notice a couple of other things. there is a notch neare the tip of the blade. i had put a new piece of sandpaper on the sanding wheel. it was just barely off center. so i turned it on and was going to just trim it off.......now i have a notch in the blade of my knife. it is not all bad. the notch makes quick work of opening those gosh awful hard plastic packaging that everything comes in now.

Also keep battery acid away from your black knife blades. it takes it off in about two seconds flat.
