coming to a jail/prison near you soon......teams are loaded with marquis NFL players....and the teams rosters are always changing.....

actually this should be a reality.....so many pros should be locked up instead of their celebrity status dictating their slap on the wrist penalties or no jail time at all....

I worked for a Chief Master Sgt back in the day and he had a great saying for these kinds of folks..."You can't fix stupid!" I think that applies nicely in this situation. Guess I can't take him off the fantasy draft board.

I'm not sure how much "real time" he'll do...BUT...I'm pretty sure Roger Goodell will put his foot down and Plax won't be playing for a while. I agree these guys are held to a different standard, but it's refreshing to see that the commish is holding them more accountable these days.

I don't see where he is getting off easy at all. 2 years for shooting himself?Plaxico may be a moron but he didn't attack anyone or show any kind of malicious intent. The man has no previous criminal record or any history of violence whatsoever.
9 times out of 10 accidentally discharging a gun would bring a probation before judgement verdict. IMO he's being railroaded so assholes like Bloomburg can call themselves tough on gun crimes.

There are hundreds of thousands of violent punks walking the street of our cities who got off a lot easier for far worse crimes.

In all honesty as someone who goes by the name Giant fan,
if Eli were to be arrested on a victimless gun charge would you be as eager to see him pay? No need to answer here, just answer yourself.

I think anyone in the public spotlight should be held to a higher standard.. he is a roll model for many children and should act that way.

If he were to walk away with just a slap on the wrist, what kind of statement would that make?

What about all the bumper stickers you see on the NYPD cruisers... 5 year min for a crime with a gun.

As a Giant fan I do think that it's a shame.... he did a lot for the team, more then most people understand. When they had to put two guys on him everytime he was on the field it sure gave the Giants an advantage.

And if Eli were to do the same thing I would feel the same way.
