Pretty stout one right there at the end. Was trying to figure out what the hell dude was shooting that shark with....was that an AK or something... whatever it was, he sure as hell let that shark have it. Hit him sounded like 15 times.

Guess I had the volume up too loud. I only shot em a couple times and that was with a 12ga. Definitely the funnest part of the whole thing though is blastin.

Hey Deep C, cool video. I have never shark fished, and most of my experience is inshore. When you catch these things and obviously some of them you keep, judging by the gunfire do you sell them or keep them to eat? Is there much of a market for them or do they make better steaks?

The gunfire is insurance. The gaff in the gills does the kill. A slow dumb round like the 380 leaves a load of shock on its trip to numb them and so nobody gets hurt when putting on the tail line. The tail is as dealy if not worse than the head.
There is a market for em but I'd rather eat em. Even the big pigs taste like ice cream to me...Even though they are very high % meat yield there never seems enough to go around...

Deep C....great video....you're right, when the dock hears you caught a nice mako, there's never enough to go around.

Looks like some of those made the scales...were any SJ Shark tourney placers? That last fish had some good size to it.
