Cool Palm Beach Non Fishing Report

The prospect of freezing my cahones off on the skiff for a third time this week just to catch sails wasn't sitting well with me. The 11-13' seas were enough to keep me planted at the dock... So just call me a meow...

I decided to go play on the Deep getting her closer to chub ready than ever. A slow raw water pump drip finally got the best of me and rather than worry I decided to pull and replace here before the little drip turns into a big leak. Its always something with a boat. That project is started and waiting on parts. Then my mind got going... All these maintainence threads we have on this site spurred me into doing some stuff.
I saw the alum thread yesterday and I figured I'd start with that. So I did the tower clean and seal thing. Now energetic, I carried my game to the bow and did a waxin. I would have done the gunwales but we have had bridge work near us and thers some rusty dusty areas that need addressing with acid before I wax over the top. With the wind blowing it's not very prudent to play with acid...
Down below I went. Looking in all my hidey holes that I havn't checked in a while. Thats always fun. Never know what I'll find. Sure enough I dug out some lures I havn't seen for a while. Notes from the Bahamas trips stuffed in another spot along with a stash of chips from Bimini that my mate must have hoarded for midnight munchies...
All the while doing this stuff I had the radio going. A few brave souls had made it out. Said it was about 5' seas on the one side of the "rip" but about 12' on the outside. They described a line for tailing sailfish stretching from jupiter to stuart. They hadn't got down to our inlet yet though. So it looks like tomorrow may be "The" day...
So thats my boring tale of the day...

Hay Deep, try some stuff called "Wink" for the rust. Not the drink. You will find it in the cleaning supplies in the "G" store. Comes in a small brown bottle. Squirt it on the rust stain goes away, rinse off with water...no smell
    MirrOlure when big fish count!
