What type of paint do you use to paint a name on a transome?

get a vynil sticker made at any good graphix shop, much easier.otherwise use interlux brightside polyurethane.Awlgrip is much better but expensive for just painting a name.

The interlux is fine, but Stickers will be a lot easier to deal with, and you can get pretty fancy graphics...

Charlie Wade - Impact Expressions does good work...

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to go old school with the name and Paint it on. I'll let you know how it goes.

We used Sign Painter's One Shot on my Dad's boat. It's oil based, comes in lots of colors in tiny cans. We used to find it in art/craft supply stores like Pearl Paint.

We eventually went to vinyl. Faster, easier and offers more options. Either way you go good luck and please post pictures.

Yes vinyl is best, and about the same money as buying a few paint colors, if you put it on yourself. The best thing about vinyl is it comes off easy with a hairdryer. Have it cut, lay it out, spray a little Windex on to help it slide and make it easier to squeegee the bubbles out, and you're done.
