stay away from Taco - I had them originally on my boat and they were junk for offshore use. One of the bases blew apart, and they were both looking rough when I got rid of them. I now have the Lees Sidewinders 18' and they are much better - not telescopic.

NO telescopic pole is going to be very sturdy. I even guy my Lees forward to reduce shrinking of my trolling spread and to improve the release on strike. A 15' pole will be less flexible than an 18 - but will still bow if pulling large baits at offshore speeds - and especially if double rigged

Think this has already been mentioned so I'll second. I don't have top mounts. Wanted to on my hardtop but wasn't happy not being able to use the aluminum framework so would have had to fasten only to the fiberglass top. Finally decided on Lee's Wishbones and have been happy. Here's my second, if going with something from Lee's go with the xstrong. Mine are 18' and are much more rigid then the regular 18's. Buddy of mine has them.

    Rigging

Think I'm going with the Lee sidewinders. Like the idea of having more control over the riggers. Not buying soon, though. Impulse buying=NOT GOOD

This is what I was thinking (try not to spit your drink all over the computer when you see my paint skills)

Let me know if I am way off base with this beautiful work of art

I would not get telescoping riggers. The idea sounds great but after you use them a few times the salt gets in the little push pins and they either won't pop out like they are supposed to or you have to beat them in. I have the Taco 15' telescopic and I just leave mine out all the time. When I have to get another set I will be getting non telescopic. It's just as easy to pull the riggers out of the holders and lay them in the boat as it is to drop the telescopic riggers down and then tie up all the rigger line.
